Turkey - Japan Modern Art Exhibition Opens In Istanbul

ISTANBUL - The Second Turkey-Japan Modern Art Exhibition was opened at the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul on Monday.
Around 200 Japanese and 50 Turkish artists joined the fair with 350 artifacts.
Speaking in the opening ceremony of the exhibition, Japanese Consul General in Istanbul Akio Wada said that the ''2003 Year of Turkey in Japan'' activities continued and cultural and touristic activities were organized in both countries.
Wada said that Japanese people were interested in Turkish and Anatolian civilizations and expressed belief that such activities would increase that interest and rooted friendly ties between two countries.
The exhibition will be open till October 2.
