ANKARA - Office of General Staff said on Monday that a Turkish liaison team was sent to highest level U.S. headquarters in Baghdad to coordinate between Turkish and U.S. units serving in the north of Iraq.
A statement of the General Staff said, ''Turkish and U.S. officials agreed to send a Turkish liaison team comprised of two officers and two non-commissioned officers to the highest level U.S. headquarters deployed in Baghdad in order to coordinate between military units of the two countries serving in the north of Iraq. Turkish liaison team left for Baghdad on September 21, 2003 after completing all necessary preparations.''
