Ankara: Attack On Akila Al- Hashemi Also Aims At Stability In Iraq

ANKARA - Turkey said on Sunday that the attack on Akila al-Hashemi, one of three women in Iraq's 25-member Interim Governing Council, also aimed at order and stability in Iraq.
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Huseyin Dirioz told A.A correspondent that Ankara expressed regret over the attack.
Dirioz said, ''the attack on a member of the governing council, which was formed in transition period in Iraq, can also be described as an attack toward efforts to accelerate normalization process and restoration of confidence and stability in Iraq.''
Dirioz said Ankara wanted prevention of such kind of attacks and wished that al-Hashemi would recover rapidly.
