LEFKOSA - TRNC President Rauf Denktas said on Friday that they wanted an agreement not on paper, but one which was based on the state.
Denktas who received a delegation from the Association of Ghazis said that ''if Turkey had not started this operation, there would not have been any Turkish Cypriot in Cyprus today. Unfortunately, this struggle is continuing. Greek Cypriot side has not given up its target. It aims to found a unitary state depending on Greek Cypriot majority and make Turkish Cypriot people minority,'' he said. Denktas stated that Annan's plan accepted the philosophy of it.
Denktas said that elections was not on the issue of whether to join the EU or not and stated that elections was the issue of whether to save this state or not.
''EU was brought onto the agenda with the pressure of Greece,'' he said.
Denktas said that they wanted an agreement not on paper, but one which was based on the state.
