TUNCELI - Police detained on Friday Hidir Aytac, the Chairman of the branch of Democratic People's Party (DEHAP) in eastern Tunceli province who hung pictures of Abdullah Ocalan, the head of the terrorist organization, on the walls of the DEHAP provincial building and took photographs before Ocalan's picture.
Sources told A.A correspondent that a group of women went on hunger strike in DEHAP provincial building last Monday to draw attention to Ocalan's health.
The sources said that those women and Aytac hung pictures of Ocalan on the walls of the provincial building and took photographs before Ocalan's picture.
Tunceli Police Department lodged a complaint about Aytac and women on hunger strike after the photographs had been published in a newspaper.
Tunceli Prosecutor's Office then detained Aytac and Sevim Ayyildiz, a member of DEHAP who was on hunger strike.
Officials said that five other women who were in the photograph taken before Ocalan's picture and who went on hunger strike would also be detained.
