ANKARA - Members of Turkish-Palestinian Interparliamentary Friendship Group visited on Friday Fouad Yaseen, the Ambassador of Palestine to Turkey.
Justice and Development Party (AK Party) deputy and head of the group Huseyin Tanriverdi expressed ''regret over the uncompromising policies'' of the Israeli government.
Tanriverdi said that the decision to expel Palestinian President Yasser Arafat was the most important sign of Israel's insincerity in peace process.
The Israeli government was openly challenging against international community, particularly the United Nations, European Union and Russia, Tanriverdi noted.
Tanriverdi said, ''Arafat is the president of a legitimate state recognized by many countries like Turkey and the democratically elected representative of a nation which has already deserved freedom'' and called for imposing economic and political sanctions on Israel.
Stating that Israel disregarded fundamental rights and liberties of hundreds of thousands of people, Tanriverdi once more called on the Israeli government not to violate Palestinian lands and end its policies of violence.
