ANKARA - Environment and Forestry Minister Osman Pepe will go to Canada on Saturday to attend the 12th World Forestry Congress.
A statement of Environment and Forestry Ministry said on Friday that the 12th of the congress which was held once in every six years would take place in Quebec, Canada between September 21 and 28.
The statement noted that Pepe would deliver a speech in the congress since Turkey hosted the previous congress.
Pepe will stress process launched in 1992 Rio Summit, Turkey's contributions and cooperation with other international and regional processes in his speech.
Recalling that the 11th World Forestry Congress was held in Turkey by the Forestry Ministry in cooperation with the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization in 1997, the statement noted that governments and high-level officials of international organizations signed ''Antalya Declaration'' at the end of the congress.
Pepe will also open an exhibition to promote Turkey and forestry works as part of congress activities.
