U.S. Consul General In Adana Visits Van Mayor

VAN - U.S. Consul General in southern Adana province Scott Reid visited on Friday Van Mayor Sahabettin Ozarslaner.
Reid received information about problems of the eastern province of Van in the meeting.
U.S. Consul General Reid said that he aimed to learn about the region and he would meet with local administrators and representatives of non-governmental organizations in his two-day visit to Van.
Ozarslaner said that unemployment was the most important problem of Van and the unemployed people constituted half of the total population of their city.
Stressing inequality between regions in Turkey, Ozarslaner said that there was serious imbalance in national income per capita.
Ozarslaner stated that he was exerting utmost efforts to prevent capital outflow from Van, and flow of national and international capital in Van.
