ANKARA - ''Israel's lack of respect for (international) laws may harm global peace,'' said Bulent Arinc, Speaker of Turkish Parliament, on Monday.
Arinc talked on current issues in a TRT-2 tv station program.
Deploring that no firm decision has been taken at the G-8 summit regarding Israel's attacks Bulent Arinc indicated:
''I have received letters from the parliament speakers of Lebanon and Palestine on the recent developments in the Middle East. Civilians, including children, are getting killed by Israel. Bridges and roads are getting destructed. Israel's lack of respect for (international) laws may harm global peace. Israel's use of excessive force and its attitude affirming that it can respond to the smallest incident with greatest fierceness pose a threat to international peace,'' told Arinc.
Arinc urged all parties involved to declare cease-fire immediately and avoid further bloodshed. ''Captured Israeli soldiers must be returned back to Israel,'' also stressed Arinc.
