BINGOL/OZALP - One police officer died and one sergeant was wounded in two separate attacks waged by terrorists in eastern cities of Van and Bingol on Sunday, sources said.
They stated that a group of PKK terrorists opened fire to a police checkpoint in Ozalp town of Van at around 10 p.m., noting that one police officer lost his life in the attack.
On the other hand, terrorists attacked on a gendarmery station in Genc town of Bingol. One sergeant was seriously wounded in the attack. He was taken to military hospital in southeastern city of Diyarbakir by helicopter.
Operations are under way in the region.
