ANKARA - The inflation rate in Turkey can start to reduce as of August, International Monetary Fund (IMF) sources said on Saturday.
IMF sources told A.A correspondent that what is important is to achieve the medium term target, not the short term one.
According to IMF, the most important factor in fighting against inflation is to end the inflationist expectations.
The IMF does not think that the current (accounts) deficit is an important risk when it is financed by foreign capital. 80 percent of this deficit can be closed by direct foreign investments this year.
On floating foreign exchange rate regime, the IMF executives say that this regime protects Turkey against external shocks.
