SOMEONE IS LYING
Following General Staff, the Security DG and the National Intelligence Organization announced that they did not tap phone conversations of General Reha Taskesen, who has resigned from the Land War Academy. However, Taskesen told his close friends that he knew that his phone was being tapped since the beginning of this year, and quoted Land Forces Command Chief of Staff Gen. Ergin Saygun as saying that his (Taskesen's) phone conversations had been deciphered. There are three possibilities in this case. First, Taskesen does not tell the truth. Secondly, the statement of one of these three organizations does not reflect the truth. And, the third Taskesen was tapped by some other organizations.
IT KILLED LIKE AIDS
Nurse Nazli Yazici was infected with Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) when she was taking blood sample from a patient who was bitten by a tick. She died of this disease.

ERDOGAN: ISRAEL IS ISOLATING ITSELF
Turkish PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan strongly reacted to Israel's bombardment of Lebanon. ''What is this, if not war'', Erdogan said. Erdogan criticized the USA of not being sensitive about this matter, and added, ''Israel is taking steps towards isolating itself in the world.''
KENAN EVREN HOSPITALIZED
One of former presidents of Turkey, Kenan Evren was taken to Gulhane Military Medical Hospital (GATA) in Ankara after he suffered from high fever when he was having a vacation in Aegean town of Bodrum. Former prime minister Bulent Ecevit is also receiving treatment in GATA.

BLOOD AND TEARS IN MIDDLE EAST
As Sabah team, we are at the Sifa Hospital in Gaza Strip. There are two brothers who were wounded. Four members of the Elhac family are dead, only two of them are left. This family was a target of the bombs of Israeli F-16 planes when they were having their dinner.
HE CANNOT ENTER TURKEY
The Directorate General of Security announced that al-Kadi is banned from entering Turkey. Regarding al-Kadi, PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, ''I know Mr. Yasin. I trust him as much as I trust myself.'' Al-Kadi has been on Turkey's agenda due to his commercial relations with Erdogan's adviser Zapsu. ''This decision (the decision to ban al-Kadi from entering Turkey) has been made by the Council of Ministers'', said spokesman Ismail Caliskan of the Security DG.

TURKEY CALLS FOR CEASE-FIRE
Israel continues to bomb Lebanon. Turkish FM Abdullah Gul said, ''if a cease-fire is not made on time, it will be impossible to live together (in this region).''
PHONE & ADSL TARIFFS TO BE REDUCED
Turkish Telekom DG Paul Doany announced: ''New tariffs will be made public next week. ADSL tariff will also be reduced.''

''PHILANTHROPIC'' BUT CANNOT ENTER TURKEY
Security DG spokesman Ismail Caliskan said that Yassin Al Qadi is banned from entering Turkey. Regarding al Qadi, Erdogan said, ''I trust him as much as I trust myself. He is nothing but a philanthropic.'' Caliskan said that the UN adopted a resolution to freeze the assets of this person in member states for al Qadi is aiding and abetting the terrorists. He added that Turkey has also been informed about this resolution.
''AKP INDIFFERENT TO MARTYRS''
Reacting to the increasing terrorists attacks in Turkey, the opposition parties criticized the AKP (Justice & Development Party) of remaining indifferent to terrorism. Referring to five soldiers who were killed as a landmine, earlier planted by PKK terrorists on a highway in Bitlis, was detonated, DYP (True Path Party) leader Mehmet Agar accused the government of being indifferent to terrorist attacks.

Harshly reacting to Israel's strikes against Lebanon, PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, ''the tension began after Israel's beach attack in which children were killed. The USA should be more sensitive.''
YEAR-END INFLATION TO BE 10.5 PERCENT
The Central Bank wrote a letter to the government: ''The year-end inflation will high probably be between 9.1 and 10.5 percent. Belt-tightening may be needed in 2007 to achieve 4 percent of inflation rate target.''

UN SHOULD TAKE A MORE ACTIVE ROLE
Commenting on Israel's attacks on Lebanon, PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the UN should take a more active role, and added, ''the Middle East should not be turned into a bloodshed. As Turkey, we are sensitive. This is not a good course.''
URGENT CEASE-FIRE
Turkish FM Abdullah Gul called on parties to sign a cease-fire immediately, when commenting on Israel's attacks on Lebanon. Meanwhile, Turkish citizens have been asked to cancel their trips to the region.
