ANKARA - A delegation from Energy and Natural Resources Ministry will go to Iraq.
Issuing a written statement, Energy and Natural Ministry stated on Wednesday that a meeting was held in the ministry within the scope of reconstruction of Iraq and the aid that would be extended to Iraq.
Ministry's units can provide electricity, water and diesel oil to Iraq and a delegation will go to Iraq soon to discuss those issues with Iraqi officials.
Meanwhile, a private mobile power station in Silopi started to sell electric energy to Iraq. The electric energy which is 75 megawatt (MW) for the moment can increase to 200 MW. The electric energy which is provided from that power station is sold to Iraq by using the transmission system of Electricity Transmission Inc, which is also connected to the Ministry.
The issue of transporting water to Iraq by State Water Works (DSI) by railway and tankers was also taken up at the meeting. Water will be transported to Iraq from the purification facility in Sanliurfa. Turkey will also extend support to agricultural irrigation in Iraq.
The issue of sending kerosene to Iraq by Turkish Petroleum Inc. (TPAO) by railway or highway was also taken up during the meeting.
