ISTANBUL - ''Made in India Fair'' organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) with the cooperation of Indian's Consulate General in Istanbul, Istanbul Chamber of Industry and Istanbul Chamber of Trade was opened by Indian State Minister for Space, Energy, Statistics and Program Implementation, Planning Satyabrata Mookherjee on Tuesday.
Delivering a speech at the opening of the fair at the Hilton Convention Center in Istanbul, Mookherjee stressed that Turkey and India had close political, economic, cultural and social relations.
Stating that the two countries had cooperation in oil, natural gas, science and technology fields, Mookherjee said that India had a powerful and dynamic economy.
Mookherjee said that Turkish-Indian mutual trade recorded an important progress in recent years and stated that he was very pleased with direct flights which would start between Turkey and India.
Mookherjee said that ''Made in India Fair'' was an important event in timetable of Indian trade and industry associations.
Nearly 100 businessmen from India join the fair where products of 33 companies are displayed.
Companies including; Bajaj Auto, Tata Motors, Thermax, TVS Motors, Kirloskar Electric join the fair which aims to strengthen mutual trade and investment relations between Turkey and India.
''Made in India Fair'' can be visited free till September 18.
