ANKARA - ``EU countries can sometimes use Turkey as a tool for their own political purposes. We will overcome these. We will fulfill our responsibilities in the best way, and we will not allow a slow down in technical process,`` said Turkish State Minister & Chief Negotiator for EU talks Ali Babacan on Saturday.
Babacan informed representatives of public institutions and non-governmental organizations as well as EU experts about chapter headings of ``Social Politics & Employment`` and ``Management & Industry Policy`` on which screening processes were completed.
He said, ``introductory screening on 27 chapter headings and both introductory & detailed screening on 22 chapter headings in Turkey`s EU talks have been completed so far.``
Defining the accession process as a difficult process, Babacan said that Turkey`s EU accession process can sometimes be affected by domestic politics of EU member countries. ``We have to be ready against this,`` added Babacan.
He said, ``Turkey`s EU process will not only be to the interest of Turkey but also for the EU. Turkey, a highly Muslim populated country, is getting closer to EU standards in democratization, human rights and freedoms issues. This has important affects on the whole region.``
