TEHRAN - The ninth foreign ministers meeting of Iraq's neighboring countries started in Tehran, Iran on Saturday.
Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul who delivered a speech in the meeting recalled that last year's meeting of Iraq's neighboring countries was held in Istanbul and many things have changed in Iraq since that date.
Noting that there is an elected government in Iraq now, Gul said, ''we arrived here to support Iraqi people.''
Gul said that the future of Iraq is important for everybody in the region.
Foreign ministers of Turkey, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Syria, Bahrain, Egypt and Jordan besides Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa and Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu are attending the meeting.
