MURDERERS OF POLICEMAN DETAINED
Four people were detained in Istanbul for allegedly being involved in killing of policeman Ahmet Yildirim in an armed attack in Bahcelievler neighborhood of Istanbul on June 19th, 2006. It was revealed that the detainees were members of the illegal Revolutionary People's Liberation Party-Front (DHKP-C).
COAL MINE COLLAPSES, KILLING TWO PEOPLE
A shaft collapsed in a coal mine in the northern city of Kastamonu, killing an employee of the mining company and an engineer. The mine belonged to a private company and was not in operation.

INCLINATION TOWARDS EAST
A public survey by the U.S. Pew Company revealed that most of Turkish people were negative about the United States and Europe while 44 percent considered victory of Hamas in elections a positive development for the Palestinian people.
NEW LETTER OF INTEND SENT TO IMF
Turkish State Minister Ali Babacan said that they sent the new letter of intent, which was prepared after the third and fourth reviews under the Stand-by deal, to the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

TRIPARTITE MEETING IN CYPRUS
President Mehmet Ali Talat of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and Greek Cypriot leader Tassos Papadopoulos agreed to hold a tripartite meeting upon invitation of United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs Ibrahim Gambari. The meeting will take place at the residence of United Nations Secretary-General's Special Envoy to Cyprus Michael Moeller in the buffer zone in Lefkosa later today.
TURKISH CAMERAMAN SHOT IN GAZA
A Turkish cameraman was shot by Israeli soldiers in Gaza while he was taking footage in the Erez Industrial Zone. Hamdi Hur from the Ihlas News Agency (IHA) climbed to an electricity pole to take photographs of the industrial zone. He was shot for two times, and injured in his hand.

ARINC TAKES ACTION
After Palestinian Legislative Council Speaker Dr. Aziz Dweik sent a letter to Turkish Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc on June 29th, and asked him to support their initiatives aimed to find a solution to the Israeli-Palestinian dispute, Arinc sent a letter to his Israeli counterpart Dalia Itzik, and expressed his concerns about escalating tension in the Middle East. Arinc said that Turkey was determined to maintain its bona fide initiatives. He called on Israel to display a positive attitude.

GUL TO GIVE MESSAGES TO IRAN
Turkish Foreign Minister & Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul met Mohamed El Baradei, director-general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), and said that Iran should not miss the recent opportunity of package of proposals about its nuclear program. Gul will attend a meeting in Iranian capital Tehran today, and give messages to Iranian authorities to this end.
TAI DELIVERS FORWARD-CENTER FUSELAGE OF A400M AIRCRAFT TO BREMEN
TUSAS Aerospace Industries, Inc. (TAI), the Turkish company specialized in technological design, development, manufacturing and integration of aerospace systems, and a partner in the manufacture of A400M transport plane, sent the forward-center fuselage it manufactured, to the Airbus facilities in Bremen, Germany, where the plane is under construction.
