ANKARA - Turkish Transportation Minister Binali Yildirim and Iranian Roads & Transportation Minister Mohammad Rahmati signed a cooperation protocol on Friday.
After his meeting with Rahmati in his office in Ankara, Yildirim told reporters that Turkish-Iranian Joint Transportation Commission Meeting was held, and cooperation opportunities were discussed in this meeting.
Yildirim noted that two countries agreed to overcome problems faced in highway transportation, and improve railway transportation.
Two countries are also willing to enhance their cooperation in civil aviation and maritime, he added.
On the other hand, Rahmati said that Turkey is a bridge connecting Iran to Europe, while Iran is connecting Turkey to Central Asia.
Earlier today, Rahmati was received by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
