VAN - German Parliament Foreign Affairs Commission Chairman Volker Ruhe said on Tuesday that overcoming of regional difference in Turkey was very important in Turkey's entrance to European Union (EU).
Ruhe, who was on a five-day tour to Eastern and Southeastern region, visited Van Governor Hikmet Tan.
Ruhe said the target of the visit was to get information about the facts of the region, and to see implementation of the decisions taken in Ankara.
Ruhe said he would prepare a report about his impressions when he returns to Germany, stating that this report would be reflected to negotiations in Turkey's accession to the EU.
Ruhe is expected to participate in a conference in Batman on Wednesday.
