ANKARA - National Security Council will convene on September 19 under chairmanship of President Ahmet Necdet Sezer.
Although the seventh European Union (EU) adjustment package which was adopted by the parliament envisaged that the NSC meeting should take place once in every two months, NSC had decided in its regular meeting in August to hold one meeting in September by ''taking into consideration the foreign political developments in the region and world.''
The NSC meeting will start at 2.00 p.m. on Friday.
This NSC meeting will be the first meeting to which newly-appointed Naval Forces Commander Ozden Ornek, Air Forces Commander Ibrahim Firtina, and NSC Secretary General Sukru Sariisik will attend.
NSC used to convene once a month before the seventh EU adjustment package was passed from the parliament.
