ISTANBUL - Four people were detained in Istanbul for allegedly being involved in killing of a policeman, Istanbul Police Chief Celalettin Cerrah said on Friday.
Holding a news conference, Cerrah said, ''policeman Ahmet Yildirim was killed in an armed attack in Bahcelievler neighborhood of Istanbul on June 19th, 2006. Four people, who are members of the illegal Revolutionary People's Liberation Party-Front (DHKP-C), were detained in connection with the attack.''
The detainees were transferred to court after being interrogated at the Anti-Terrorism Department, Cerrah added.
