ANKARA - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Monday that Turkey was pleased with abolition of sanctions imposed on Libya.
Releasing a statement, Foreign Ministry said that Turkey was pleased with the U.N. Security Council's lifting sanctions imposed on Libya with the resolution dated September 12, 2003 after a consensus was reached on Lockerbie incident between the sides.
The Ministry said that abolition of sanctions would contribute to steps which were taken by Libya on economic liberalization, stability of region and development of relations between Turkey and Libya.
It added that Turkey believed that Libya would sincerely take into consideration requirements of full integration to international society.
