BERLIN - German Interior Minister Otto Schily will go to Turkey on Tuesday to meet with Interior Minister Abdulkadir Aksu to discuss extradition of Metin Kaplan, the administrator of the Union of Islamic Communities and Societies (ICCB) that was banned in Germany.
A spokesman of German Interior Ministry told A.A correspondent that Schily will leave for Turkey on Tuesday afternoon and is expected to return to Germany the same day after meeting with Aksu.
The spokesman said Schily once again asked for assurances from Aksu that Kaplan would not be interrogated with torture.
Metin Kaplan, son of Cemalettin Kaplan, known as ''Black voice'' in Turkey, had been sentenced to four years in prison on charges of inciting killing of his rival Ibrahim Sofu.
Dusseldorf Supreme Court decided not to deport Kaplan after he serves his imprisonment terms claiming he could be tortured in Turkey.
German Interior Minister Otto Schily in his earlier statements stressed that decision of the court would not be accepted, and that he would exert every kind of efforts for Kaplan's deportation.
