WASHINGTON D.C. - Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul arrived in Washington D.C. late on Monday at invitation of U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.
Gul met Robert Wexler, the founder of the Caucus on U.S.-Turkish Relations at the U.S. Senate.
FM Gul will have a meeting with Rice at the U.S. Department of State today. Rice will host a luncheon in Gul's honor, and the two ministers are expected to hold a joint press conference after their meeting.
Gul will later proceed to the White House, and meet U.S. National Security Adviser Stephen Hadley.
FM Gul is expected to participate in a dinner to be hosted in his honor by the American Turkish Council (ATC).
On Thursday, Gul will have a meeting with representatives of the Turkish community in the USA, and deliver a speech in the think-tank organization ''Brookings Institute''.
Gul is also scheduled to meet representatives of the Jewish community in the United States.
