BITLIS - Two children have died in flooding caused by heavy rain in Hizan town of eastern city of Bitlis, said sources on Monday.
The two children, Levent (2) and Refika (5) Atik, who went near a river in Sarpkaya village (of Hizan) drowned when the river overflowed due to torrential rains. Also the mother of two children is missing.
Hizan Sub-governor Yavuz Guler told A.A that gendarmery teams continue to search for the mother.
There has been torrential rains in Black Sea region as well. Two people had died when their car was drifted by floods in Kesap town of northeastern city of Giresun on Sunday. A bridge collapsed and several shops have been flooded in Trabzon and Ordu cities.
