The Assembly of Turkish-American Associations (ATAA) has launched a project aimed at boosting Türkiye's export presence in the United States, where Turkish goods currently trail those of many competing nations. ATAA Chairman Vural Cengiz outlined the initiative at an introductory meeting held at the Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce.
The plan calls for establishing an Istanbul-based company that will serve up to 50 small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs) drawn from Istanbul and various Anatolian cities. The company intends to open its first showroom in New York state, with two US locations expected by the end of the year.
Over the next decade, the project envisions a total of 21 showrooms spread across North, Central, and South America. Six firms had already expressed interest at the time of the announcement.
Cengiz noted that Turkish State Minister Kursad Tuzmen and the Foreign Trade Undersecretariat have committed $400,000 in incentive funding to support the venture.
