BRUSSELS - Additional Protocol (which envisions implementation of Customs Union by Turkey by covering 10 new EU members) will be among top issues of Finland's six-month presidency beginning as of tomorrow.
In the priorities document of EU Presidency, Finland noted that entry talks with Turkey and Croatia will be pursued under general enlargement principles, each candidate country will be subject to same criteria and progress of talks will be related with merit of the countries.
Finland noted that implementation of Ankara Agreement Additional Protocol will be reviewed probably in October or November 2006. It added that debates on this matter can significantly be influential on Turkey's EU talks.
