Turkmen Congress Starts In Kirkuk

KIRKUK - Turkmen Congress which is held in Kirkuk city of Iraq started on Saturday.
The chairman of the Congress Cuneyt Mengu said in the meeting that Turkmens, which were ranked the third in respect of population in Iraq had to play their role well in the reconstruction period of Iraq.
Mengu later read out the message sent by Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul. Gul said in the message that Turkey would continue its support to Iraq in its transition period and it would fulfil its responsibilities. The message was applauded for a long time by those who attended the Congress.
