IMF: TURKISH ECONOMY IS GOING WELL
International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Horst Koehler said that Turkish economy was going well. Koehler and IMF First Deputy Managing Director Anne Krueger who replied to questions of reporters at a breakfast assessed Turkish economy. Koehler and Krueger wanted the government to continue to carry out the economic program. Koehler said that he did not see any problem in Turkish economy, on the contrary it was going well and noted that however Turkey should be careful about some risks.

TURKEY-RUSSIA NATURAL GAS TALKS TO CONTINUE IN MOSCOW ON SEPT. 22
The talks between Turkish state owned Pipeline Company (BOTAS) and Russian Gazprom to fix the price of the natural gas brought from Russia recessed. The talks will continue in Moscow on September 22. Energy and Natural Resources Ministry said that the talks between Botas and Gazprom officials which started in Ankara last week and which recessed this week, would start on Sept. 22. The talks recessed as the two sides wanted to convey the conditions put forward to their officials.

HERE IS TURKISH JUSTICE
Totally 311 million dollars were emptied from the coffers of Bank Express. The suspects were accused of forming a gang and cheating. The case lasted for five years. In the end all of the suspects including Korkmaz Yigitgil, the former owner of the bank were acquitted.

ERDOGAN WARNS U.S.
Addressing the dinner of Turkish-American Businessmen Association, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that if the Iraqi problem lasted long, the Iraqi people would start to look for Saddam regime. Criticizing the U.S.`s regard of KADEK, Erdogan said that ``when terrorism hits the towels, is it terrorism? It is not possible to accept that one country which says it is against terrorism does not take any steps against terrorism.``

TURKISH AND U.S. DELEGATIONS REACH COMPROMISE ON COMMON ACTION PLAN AGAINST PKK
Turkey and the United States reached a compromise on a common action plan at the end of talks aiming at clearing the terrorist organization PKK/KADEK from the north of Iraq. Foreign Ministry Deputy Undersecretary Nabi Sensoy headed the Turkish delegation and U.S. State Department official Lynn Pascoe chaired the U.S. delegation during the meeting which lasted for six and a half hours in Ankara. Following the meeting, Pascoe said that not only Turkey but also the United States took fight against terrorism seriously. Stressing that reassociation law was successful, and that this was discussed during the talks, Pascoe said departure of those people from the region and their reassociation were important.

OCALAN CAN BE TRANSFERRED TO ANOTHER PRISON
Torun, Parliamentary Human Rights Commission`s Deputy Chairman who met with the lawyers of Abdullah Ocalan, the head of terrorist organization asserted that ``whoever is in prison, he has to live under healthy conditions. In my opinion the period of isolation should not be extended anymore.`` Torun said that head terrorist Ocalan could be transferred to another prison.

ACTION PLAN FOR TERRORISM
Turkish and U.S. delegations reached a compromise on a common action plan for fight with the terrorist organization. The sides decided to continue their contacts in Ankara to put the plan into practice. Turkey gave the message to the U.S. that ``if you don`t intervene with the terrorist organization, then you will lose all your convincing attitude.``

GOOD SIGNS IN ECONOMY
The improvement in inflation rate and economic growth and the positive news saying that 8.5 billion dollars of U.S. loan would be given to Turkey caused the biggest revival in economy after the crisis. Finance administrators are very pleased with the ongoing situation. The news saying that U.S. loan of 8.5 billion dollars to Turkey would become definite during the Dubai meeting of World Bank and IMF, revived the markets. The increase in the Istanbul Stock Exchange Market and the decrease in the interest rates will continue if the loan is given to Turkey, experts said.

ACTION PLAN AGAINST PKK
The U.S. and Turkey agreed on the action plan that would be implemented against the terrorist organization PKK. According to the common plan, Turkey will treat well the militants who will return from Iraq within the scope of reassociation law. The U.S. will catch militants who want to benefit from the law and hand them over to Turkey. High ranking members of the terrorist organization won`t benefit from the law.

PRIME MINISTER ERDOGAN SAYS TURKEY AND UNITED STATES BOTH FRIENDS AND ALLIES
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that friendly and allied relations between Turkey and the United States settled on a sound basis despite some difficulties. Erdogan attended a conference on ``Turkish-American relations`` which was held by Turkish-American Businessmen Association (TABA) at Istanbul`s Ciragan Palace. Addressing the conference, Erdogan said that Turkey and the United States, which were two members of a democratic and free world, shared a rooted and important partnership. Erdogan said that both countries acted together in development of human rights, democracy and market economy and also in issues of defense and security.

FIRE BREAKS OUT IN FACTORY IN GEBZE, INJURING MANY
Fire broke out in a dye factory in Gebze Organized Industry Zone near Istanbul, injuring many people on Friday. Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who was in Gebze for opening of a private hospital and groundbreaking ceremony of an elementary school, changed his schedule in the town due to the fire and went to Scientific and Technical Research Center of Turkey (TUBITAK) Marmara Research Center. Fire was later taken under control after firemen exerted efforts to extinguish the fire for seven and a half hours.

Stating that the government should carry on this good performance, Kohler said that there was a growth in Turkish economy.
