COPENHAGEN - ``We have reached the most successful point in our 40-year EU journey with start of actual negotiations,`` Turkish Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc said on Thursday.
Arinc, who is currently in Copenhagen for the Conference of Speakers of EU Parliaments, met representatives of several Turkish associations and nongovernmental organizations.
Noting that there were 60,000 Turks in Denmark, Arinc said that these people assumed a role of bridge between Turkey and Denmark.
Recalling that Turkey began actual negotiations with the EU on June 12th, Arinc underlined, ``there have been problems (regarding Turkey`s EU accession process) from time to time. But we are determined and confident that we will be successful in this process. We aim to be a full member of the EU.``
