COPENHAGEN - Turkish Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc proposed to launch a project on establishment of student assemblies in the Conference of Speakers of EU Parliaments held in Danish capital of Copenhagen.
Briefing the participants on this project launched in Turkey in 2003, Arinc said that Turkish parliament generated a project covering 13 million students in 42,000 schools.
Arinc noted that student assemblies are being set up in Turkish schools every year.
``Every class is choosing its leader, then every school is choosing its leader, and in the end, every city is choosing its leader. Then these leaders visit our parliament, and elect the head of the Turkish Students Assembly,`` he stated.
Participants showed great interest in this project. Therefore, it will be recommended to the EU integration ministries.
