ANKARA - Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari of Iraq will pay an official visit to Turkey next week.
The Turkish MFA said on Friday that Zebari was expected to arrive in Turkey on July 3rd.
Zebari will be received by Turkish President Ahmet Necdet Sezer and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. He is also scheduled to meet Turkish Foreign Minister & Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul.
Recent developments in Iraq and Turkish-Iraqi bilateral relations will be high on the agenda.
Turkey`s special envoy to Iraq Oguz Celikkol paid a visit to Iraq just after formation of the new Iraqi government, and conveyed Turkey`s message of support for the new government.
MFA said that Zebari`s visit was a proof of the new momentum reached in bilateral relations.
Meanwhile, Zebari will inaugurate the Iraqi Consulate General in Istanbul during his stay in Turkey. Earlier, Iraq decided to re-open its consulate general in Istanbul, and Turkey to re-open its consulate in Mosul.
