NEW YORK - State Minister and an accompanying delegation, who were in the United States to explain recent developments in Turkish economy to American investors, held their first meeting with the representatives of finance institutions in Chicago and Des Moines on Tuesday.
Giving information and replying questions in the meetings, Babacan said, ''Turkish economy has entered a rapid recovery process with a strong and stable government.''
Babacan made a detailed presentation on finance and monetary policies, structural reforms and privatization activities and replied the questions of participants.
Babacan also visited Chicago consulate general of Turkey and Chicago commodity exchange and received information from officials.
Babacan later addressed to Turkish businessmen, students and some American academicians by attending a meal held by Turkish associations in Chicago.
Babacan and accompanying delegation then proceeded to Boston on Monday. They will continue their meetings with important businessmen and representatives of finance institutions in Boston.
Babacan will go to New York tonight and he will hold a press conference for Turkish reporters in New York on Wednesday.
