Transportation Minister Yildirim In Washington

WASHINGTON - Transportation Minister Binali Yildirim came to Washington on Monday to attend the summit on flight safety and aviation security held with the participation of Balkan countries.
Yildirim, who came to the United States as the official guest of U.S. Secretary of Transportation Norman Mineta, told A.A correspondent that this would be the ninth summit on aviation security held following the September 11th terrorist attacks.
They would discuss regional measures to be taken against terrorism in the meeting, Yildirim pointed out.
Yildirim said that an agreement on 300 thousand U.S. dollars in grant which foresaw cooperation in aviation training between Turkey and the United States would be initialed during his visit.
Under the agreement, the United States will provide fund for training of aviation personnel.
Besides Turkey, Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Hungary will attend the summit.
Yildirim is expected to have bilateral meetings with Mineta and ministers of participating countries.
