-TURKEY TO BE NATURAL GAS SOURCE OF EUROPE
VIENNA - The agreement related to the project NABUCCO, which will transfer natural gas to the EU countries via Turkey, was signed in Vienna.
Nabucco project, which will enable natural gas of Azerbaijan and Iran to reach Europe following Bulgaria, Romania and Hungary route, is expected to be in service with full capacity in 2011.
Austrian Energy Minister Martin Bartenstein and EU Energy Commissioner Andris Piebalgs signed the agreement on behalf of the EU.
Energy ministers of Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania and Hungary, the countries who are side to the agreement, also signed Nabucco agreement.
Turkish Energy & Natural Resources Minister Hilmi Guler, who attended the meeting and signed the agreement, said, ''with Nabucco project, Turkey has come to the position of 'key country' in meeting Europe's energy need. This project will affect Turkey's full membership process to the EU positively.''
