ANKARA/TEHRAN - Turkish Foreign Minister & Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul returned from Iran to Turkey late on Sunday.
According to a news report of Iran's official news agency IRNA, during his meeting with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in Tehran, Gul noted that he paid this visit to present Turkish PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan's message to Iranian authorities, not messages of any other countries.
Ahmadinejad said that relevant parties' efforts yielded a positive process for solution of the problem, noting that negotiation was necessary to reach a solution. Underlining that Iran always supported a fair negotiation and a solution of problem without precondition, he said that Iranian commissions were examining the proposals (a package of incentives). Ahmadinejad noted that they would announce their views by August 22nd.
FM Gul met Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Parliament Speaker Gholam Ali Haddad-Adel, Iranian Supreme National Security Council Secretary Ali Larijani, former President Hashimi Rafsanjani and Foreign Minister Manuchehr Motaki.
