Orakcioglu Says They Target At Raising 20 Billion U.S. Dollars Through Textile Exports

PARIS - Suleyman Orakcioglu, the Chairman of the Executive Board of Istanbul Ready-to-wear Exporters' Association (IHKIB), said on Saturday that they targeted at raising 20 billion U.S. dollars through textile exports despite current problems.
Orakcioglu, IHKIB Executive Board Deputy Chairman Yalcin Ayaydin and fashion designer Hakan Yildirim held a press conference in Paris, where Turkish companies attended International Ready-to-wear Fair.
Exporters had significant losses due to instability in rate of exchange, Orakcioglu said.
Orakcioglu noted that exporters were facing important problems due to costs and imbalance in rate of exchange besides their problems stemming from international competition, new rules in international trade, keeping current markets in hand and entering into more markets.
Ayaydin said that 37 Turkish companies joined this year's fair and the number of companies taking part in the fair was increasing each passing year.
IHKIB, which is a sponsor of fashion shows of young designers to promote Turkish textile abroad, is also supporting a fashion show which will take place today and in which clothes designed by Hakan Yildirim will be displayed.
