ANKARA - UN Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs Ibrahim Gambari will begin a tour of Athens, Ankara and Cyprus in first week of July.
During his meetings in Cyprus, Gambari will work on whether a new initiative can be launched or not to find a solution to Cyprus question.
Diplomatic sources said that Gambari will share his views with Turkish officials in Ankara after completing his meetings in Cyprus.
Gambari will also present a report to UN Secretary General Kofi Annan about his meetings.
Gambari will arrive in Cyprus on July 6th, and on the last day of his visit (July 8th) he will try to have a meeting with President Mehmet Ali Talat of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and Greek Cypriot leader Tassos Papadopoulos in ``a neutral zone`` in Cyprus. Talat approved such a meeting, but Greek Cypriot administration has not responded yet.
