CANAKKALE - U.S. Consul General in Istanbul David Arnett said on Friday that they would be pleased if Turkish soldiers went to Iraq.
Arnett, who visited Canakkale Governor Suleyman Kamci and Mayor Ulgur Gokhan, replied to questions of reporters.
Upon a question on dispatch of Turkish soldiers to Iraq, Arnett said that they would be pleased if Turkish soldiers went to Iraq, but it was a decision to be taken by Turkish people and government.
Arnett noted that there were security problems in Iraq at the moment and Turkish singers, artists and businessmen could go to the region if those problems were solved.
