ALANYA - ``We have doubled Turkey`s foreign trade volume and brought it to 190 billion USD in the last 3,5 years,`` said Turkish State Minister Kursad Tuzmen in a meeting in Alanya town of southern city of Antalya on Thursday.
``Foreign trade volume was 87 billion USD in 2002,`` added Tuzmen.
Noting that flow of foreign capital in Turkey as well as revenues obtained from foreign contractor sector rose significantly, Tuzmen said, ``income from foreign contractor services which was 1.3 billion USD in 2002 rose to 9.4 billion USD in 2005, and also foreign capital inflow increased from 500 million USD to 9.5 billion USD.``
Tuzmen said that tourism sector also improved, adding that Turkey hosted 20 million tourists last year. He noted, ``we will host at least 20 million tourists in the second half of this year.``
