BURSA - Exports of textiles from northwestern province of Bursa increased by 22.4 percent, and exports of ready-to-wear clothing rose by 24.6 percent in the January-August period of 2003.
Uludag Exporters' Association told A.A correspondent on Thursday that exports of ready-to-wear clothing increased 24.6 percent from 311 million 426 thousand U.S. in January-August period of 2002 to 388 million 298 thousand U.S. dollars in the same period of 2003.
The exports of textiles, which were 293 million 862 thousand U.S. dollars in January-August period of 2002, rose 22.4 percent to 359 million 926 thousand U.S. dollars in the same period of 2003. The region exported textiles to nine free zones and 111 countries and autonomous regions and exported ready-to-wear clothing to eight free zones and 80 countries and autonomous regions.
