TEHRAN - Turkey and Iran signed a three-year cultural exchange program on Monday with the aim of improving their relations in education, science, culture, youth and sports.
Turkish Culture & Tourism Minister Atilla Koc met Iranian Islamic Culture & Guidance Minister Mohammad Hosein Safar-Harandi on the third day of his official visit to Iran.
Speaking at the meeting, Koc said, ''we attach importance to our cultural relations with Iran. We want to further develop our cooperation to create digital copies of manuscripts. Also, we want to sign a memorandum of understanding envisaging cooperation between Turkish and Iranian national libraries.''
Later, Koc and Safar-Harandi signed a three-year cultural exchange program to further develop bilateral relations in the areas of education, science, culture, youth and sports.
