ANKARA - Turkish Air Forces Commander Gen. Faruk Comert decorated his Pakistani counterpart Tanvir Mehmood Ahmed with the ''Turkish Armed Forces Medal of Merit''.
Speaking at the ceremony in Ankara on Monday, Gen. Comert said, ''friendly relations and cooperation between countries have gained more importance in today's world where political instability has escalated. We appreciated Gen. Ahmed's sincere efforts to further improve the relations between the Turkish and Pakistani air forces.''
Meanwhile, Gen. Ahmed thanked Turkish people for supporting Pakistani people after the quake disaster.
''Global terrorism affects both Turkey and Pakistan. Pakistan will take its place in fight against terrorism so we need Turkey's support,'' he added.
