ANKARA - ``Turkey wants to benefit from the big investment potential in Gulf countries,`` said Turkish Finance Minister Kemal Unakitan following his meeting with Gulf Co-Operation Council Secretary-General Abdul-Rahman Bin Hamad Al-Attiyah in Ankara on Thursday.
Unakitan stressed that the Gulf countries (Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman and United Arab Emirates) have a strong economic structure.
``Turkey is about to sign free trade agreement with these countries. We want to increase economic cooperation with Gulf countries to the maximum level, and benefit from their big investment potential,`` noted Unakitan.
On the other hand, Al-Attiyah said that the third meeting on free trade agreement (between Turkey and Gulf countries) will start in November.
Noting that there is economic stability and confidence in Turkey, Al-Attiyah said that they want businessmen of Turkey and Gulf countries to make more joint investments.
