NAPLES - International Trade and EU Affairs Minister Emma Bonino of Italy will pay a two-day formal visit to Turkey beginning on June 17th.
It will be Bonino's first visit abroad as a member of the newly formed Italian government led by Prime Minister Romano Prodi.
Bonino will first meet representatives of Italian investment companies operating in Istanbul.
Later, Bonino will proceed to Ankara.
She will be received by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. At the meeting, Bonino is expected to reiterate Italy's support to Turkey's EU membership bid.
Bonino is also scheduled to meet Turkish State Minister Kursad Tuzmen and Industry & Trade Minister Ali Coskun.
