ANKARA - Republican People's Party (CHP) Deputy Group Chairman Oguz Oyan said on Wednesday that United States and Britain were in the position of occupier in Iraq, stating that, ''Turkey will be in the position of occupier in case it sends soldiers to Iraq with the suggestions and pressures of those countries''.
Oyan, who held a news conference in the Parliament, evaluated the recent developments.
Stating that situation in Iraq got complicated day by day, Oyan said the word, ''hell'' was not any more adequate to describe Iraq.
Oyan defended that the adoption of a U.N. resolution was ''sine qua non'' condition to send soldiers.
Oyan also criticized the efforts of Justice and Development Party (AK Party) to bring comprehensive changes to restrict authorities of the President, and stated that this constituted a danger for the regime.
