AL FALLUJAH - Fallujah Mayor Taha Badawi Hamid al-Alwani said on Tuesday that they would be very pleased with Turkey's sending soldiers to Iraq.
Speaking to A.A correspondent, Fallujah Mayor Taha Badawi Hamid al-Alwani said that they preferred Turkish soldiers to soldiers of other nations.
Al-Alwani said that they explained people in Fallujah the contributions which Turkish soldiers could make to the region and that the people started to understand the value of Turkish soldiers.
''If foreign soldiers are going to come to Turkey, we want them to be Turkish soldiers,'' said Fallujah mayor.
Al-Alwani who welcomed A.A correspondents told them that people in Fallujah wished Turkish soldiers to come to the region and that they would be very pleased with it. Al-Alwani stated that Turkey could also have contributions to solve the problems of the Iraqi people who were in poverty.
Noting that American soldiers had shown some wrong behaviors towards the Iraqi people, Al-Alwani said that he was sure that the Turkish soldiers would not act like the American soldiers and abide by the rules.
Al-Alwani said that they liked Turkey very much and they shared many common ties with Turkey like Islam, neighborhood and brotherhood, adding that ''we wait for Turkish soldiers.''
