Turkish And Greek Swimmers Swim Between Simi Island And Datca In World Peace Day

DATCA - Turkish and Greek swimmers swam on Monday between Simi island and Datca for 4.5 miles to contribute to the friendship of Turkish and Greek peoples and to world peace.
Datca and Simi island Municipalities held an activity between Datca and Simi in which swimmers of both sides attended to give peace and friendship message to humanity in World Peace Day.
Datca Mayor Erol Karakullukcu said that Datca and Simi were close to each other geographically but people were not, adding that they wanted to shorten this distance with the activity in World Peace Day.
Turkish and Greek started to swim in their country and met in the Aegean Sea after swimming 4.5 miles mutually. The swimmers gave Turkish and Greek flags to each other.
