ISTANBUL - Berlin office of Turkish Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (TUSIAD) will be opened by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday.
TUSIAD said in a statement on Monday that the opening of Berlin office of TUSIAD, which went into operation on May 1, 2003, would be made by Erdogan by taking into consideration the key role of Germany in Turkey's membership process to the European Union (EU).
Turkish and German government officials, representatives of business circles, politicians, bureaucrats and TUSIAD members would attend the opening.
Regular September meeting of TUSIAD Executive board will be held in Berlin office same day.
TUSIAD Chairman Tuncay Ozilhan, Erdogan, German Interior Minister Otto Schily, German Industrialists Federation Deputy Chairman Dr. Arend Oetker and Christian Democrat Union Secretary General Laurenz Meyer will release speeches prior to the dinner to be held in Adlon Hotel after the opening.
TUSIAD Higher Consultation Council Chairman Muharrem Kayhan and German Deputy Economy Minister Gerd Andres will also release speeches following the dinner.
Berlin office of TUSIAD functions to inform German public opinion correctly for 2004 target regarding Turkey's starting negotiations with EU, to form an effective public opinion in Germany, to make Turkey known better in German private sector, media, political authorities and cultural circles and to contribute to the development of business relations of Turkish firms in Germany.
