Reception Held Upon 12th Anniversary Of Uzbekistan's Independence

ANKARA - The 12th anniversary of Uzbekistan's gaining its independence was celebrated in a reception in Ankara on Monday.
Acting Prime Minister Abdullatif Sener, former president Suleyman Demirel, former foreign minister Yasar Yakis, U.S. Ambassador to Turkey Eric Edelman, British Ambassador to Turkey Peter Westmacott and other guests attended the reception hosted by Uzbek Ambassador to Turkey Rustem Isayev.
Yakis, Edelman and Westmacott had a conversation during the reception. Sources said the U.S. reiterated its message that it expected contributions of Turkey to Iraq during the conversation.
